Maneet Chauhan’s Blackberry Bourbon Smash Cocktail Recipe
It’s impossible not to smile while sipping this refreshing cocktail from Chef Maneet Chauhan, especially when it’s decked out with cotton candy that’s made on a home machine and with edible flowers. Add any type of drink flourish or decoration that will make you do a happy dance.
Blackberry Bourbon Smash
2 lime wedges (1/2 ounce fresh lime juice)
6 to 7 fresh mint leaves
2 to 3 blackberries
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
2 ounces bourbon
3/4 ounce simple syrup or 1 tablespoon sugar
1 dash cardamom bitters
1 cup crushed ice
1 ounce club soda
Cotton candy, for garnish, optional
Edible flowers, for garnish, optional
1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle lime, mint, blackberries, and cardamom until completely mashed. Add bourbon, simple syrup, bitters, and ice. Cover and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
2. In a rocks glass, pour mixture, without straining, and top with soda. Garnish with cotton candy and edible flowers, if desired.
