This Man Has Mowed Thousands of Lawns for Those in Need

A few years ago, Rodney Smith Jr. from Huntsville, Alabama saw an elderly man struggling to mow his lawn. He stepped in and volunteered to mow it for him. Rodney was then inspired to mow 40 lawns for the elderly and disabled or single mothers and veterans in need. He reached 40 lawns in less than two months. In another two months, he had mowed 100 lawns.

Rodney recruited a team of volunteers to join him in starting Raising Men Lawn Care, an organization that inspires local youth to partake in community service. Since 2015, he has mowed over 2,000 lawns and inspired countless others all across the country.

Ben and Kellie were overjoyed to share Rodney’s story – and surprise him with a brand new lawnmower (and more!) from Briggs & Stratton.
