Kimberly Schlapman’s Girlfriend S’mores
Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and her daughter Daisy have the perfect treat for a girls’ get together. Keep napkins handy, as this can be a sticky dessert! Want to add even more fun to this tasty treat? Add sprinkles, chopped nuts, fresh fruit, and/or candy pieces on top!
Makes 6 (4-ounce) jars
2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) unsalted butter
3 bananas, sliced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
8 graham cracker sheets, crumbled
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate, melted
1 (7-ounce) jar marshmallow crème
1. Set an oven rack in the lowest position and preheat the broiler. Place 6 4-ounce Mason jars on a rimmed baking sheet.
2. Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the bananas and brown sugar and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the bananas are coated and tender, about 7 minutes.
3. Dividing evenly, layer the graham cracker crumbs, bananas, chocolate, marshmallow crème in the 6 jars, making sure the marshmallow is on top.
4. Place baking sheet in oven and broil until golden brown on top, about 5 minutes. Alternatively, use a small kitchen torch to brown the marshmallow topping instead of broiling.
